Graham Vick CBE wins the prestigious Premio Abbiati for the 8th time

Graham Vick’s production of La bohème for the Teatro Comunale di Bologna has just been announced as winner of the Italian critics’ prize, the Premio Abbiati. Voted for annually by the leading Italian opera critics, it is the ‘Oscar’ of the Italian opera world.

This is the eighth time that one of Vick’s productions has won the prize. Conducted by Michele Mariotti, the production was shown in cinemas throughout Europe last year.

Graham Vick has started rehearsals this week for a new production of Korngold’s Die tote Stadt at La Scala Milan.
