
Ed Lyon stars in successful Rameau Premiere in Glyndebourne
01.07.13The first ever production of a Rameau opera at Glyndebourne opened on Saturday night with Ed Lyon as Hippolyte in Jonathan Kent’s production of Hippolyte et Aricie, conducted by William Christie. Ed has worked extensively in French baroque repertoire in France and elsewhere, especially with Les Arts Florissants and Christie. The performances run until August 18th. On July 10, 14 and 21 he will repeat his extraordinary performance as Colin in Denisov’s L’ecume des jours for Stuttgart Opera and looking ahead to the autumn, he will sing Don Ottavio in a new production of Don Giovanni for Scottish Opera, directed by Sir Thomas Allen.
