Lothar Koenigs brings WNO to the Royal Opera House

On July 25th  and 26th Lothar Koenigs will conduct two performances of Welsh National Opera’s acclaimed production of Moses und Aron at the Royal Opera House, with Sir John Tomlinson in the role of Moses. The production was first seen in May and Lothar Koenigs’ musical command of this highly complex score was greeted with universal critical acclaim – ‘The performance is a triumph for its hugely esteemed music director, Lothar Koenigs, and its chorus and orchestra who, collectively and individually, master their parts with remarkable confidence and plasticity’ (The Financial Times)

Lothar Koenigs will start the 14/15 season with a new production of Richard Strauss’ Daphne for La Monnaie in Brussels, and other engagements in the season include Elektra in Dresden and Zürich, Königskinder in Dresden, and Pelléas et Mélisande for WNO.
