BBC Proms 2014
05.09.14We are delighted that many of our artists are included in this year’s BBC Proms:
Thursday 11 September: Johannes Debus conducts the Britten Sinfonia as they accompany singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright in a late-night Prom featuring many of his most well-known songs
Saturday 13 September: Roderick Williams takes to the stage as soloist at the legendary Last Night of the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Roderick sings the baritone solo in Strauss’s Taillefer, then his own arrangements of the songs ‘Ol Man River and Joshua fit the battle of Jericho, before leading the audience in the traditional Rule, Brittania! Sakari Oramo conducts the BBC Singers, BBC Symphony Chorus and BBC Symphony Orchestra. Over in Swansea, Tecwyn Evans conducts the Proms in the Park with the BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales and international soloist Bryn Terfel, which will also be broadcast live as part of the evening celebrations.
