Graham Vick and Andrew Gourlay present Tippett in Birmingham
01.04.15Tippett’s The Ice Break will open at Birmingham’s B12 Warehouse on Good Friday with Birmingham Opera Company directed by Graham Vick and conducted by Andrew Gourlay. The opera was premiered at Covent Garden in 1977 but has not been heard since a Proms performance in 1990 and both Vick and Gourlay passionately believe the work to be a visionary masterpiece that is ripe for re-evaluation. The score will be played by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the performances are on April 3, 4, 7, 8 and 9.
