Kathryn Rudge announced as a BBC New Generation Artist

We are delighted to announce that mezzo soprano Kathryn Rudge has today been appointed a BBC New Generation Artist. This commitment will run to December 2017. Kathryn Rudge is already established as one of the brightest stars amongst young British singers and is currently singing Rosina in The Barber of Seville for English National Opera (‘on the plus side, we have Kathryn Rudge’s classy Rosina’ – The Guardian Sept 30). Her debut CD ‘Love’s Old Sweet Song’ with pianist James Baillieu has recently been released to critical acclaim. Her position as an NGA will provide her with a wonderful platform to extend her recital and concert repertoire, and she is tremendously excited to take on this challenge over the next two years. Her next BBC engagement is with the BBC Symphony Orchestra in the Barbican on November 27 in a concert performance of Leoncavallo’s Zaza, which will follow a studio recording for Opera Rara.
