Andrew Gourlay to make concert début with the CBSO

Andrew Gourlay will conduct concerts in Symphony Hall Birmingham on January 14 and 16 with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in a programme of Ravel, Rachmaninov and Rimsky-Korsakov. He worked for the first time with the CBSO in spring 2015 in the critically successful collaboration with Birmingham Opera Company on Graham Vick’s production of Tippet’s The Ice Break.

Andrew Gourlay takes up his appointment this month as Music Director of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León and forthcoming concerts this spring include the Britten Sinfonia at the Barbican, the London Sinfonietta in Singapore, the RTE National Symphony Orchestra in Dublin and the BBC Philharmonic in Bridgewater Hall Manchester.
