Ivor Bolton to conduct rare Wagner in Madrid and Rameau in Munich
08.02.16Ivor Bolton, Music Director of the Teatro Real Madrid is currently rehearsing Wagner’s rarely performed comic opera Das Liebesverbot, which will open in Madrid on February 19th. Directed by the Royal Opera’s Kasper Holten, this will be a co-production with Covent Garden and will be seen in London, also conducted by Bolton, in the 2018/19 season.
This summer Ivor Bolton will return to Munich to fulfill a long-cherished ambition to conduct a Rameau opera: the Bayerische Staatsoper will present a new production of Les Indes Galantes in the Prinzregententheater as part of the Munich Opera Festival, opening on July 24th.
