13.04.16The BBC Proms 2016 season has been announced, and we are delighted that so many of our artists are involved again this year:
16 July David Butt Philip joins the Royal Opera House cast, orchestra and chorus for a concert performance of Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov conducted by Sir Antonio Pappano
17 July Roderick Williams joins the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and the Choir of King’s college, Cambridge for a programme of works including Fauré’s Requiem
18 July Paul Lewis performs a programme of Debussy, Dutilleux, and Mozart, with the Vertavo Quartet and his wife, ‘cellist Bjorg Lewis, in a Chamber Prom at Cadogan Hall
4 August Peter Serkin joins the BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Oliver Knussen to perform Brahms Piano Concerto No. 2
06 August Kathryn Rudge and Peter Auty join the BBC Singers at the Royal Naval College in Greenwich for Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle
7 August Pavel Kolesnikov joins the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland conducted by Ilan Volkov to perform Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 2
16 August Sir Mark Elder brings the Hallé to the Royal Albert Hall for their annual Prom in a programme that includes Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde with Alice Coote
18 August The West-Eastern Divan Orchestra conducted by Daniel Barenboim return to the BBC Proms for a concert featuing Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 1 performed by the legendary Martha Argerich
20 August Andrew Gourlay conducts the London Sinfonietta through a programme of Birtwistle, Ligeti, and Hass, at the Roundhouse in Camden as part of the Chamber Prom series
20 August Carolyn Sampson joins the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and BBC Symphony Chorus conducted by Ilan Volkov for a performance of Mozart’s Mass in C minor
21 August Clara Mouriz joins the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra conducted by Matthias Pintscher for a performance of Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream
4 September Sir Mark Elder and David Butt Philip return to the Proms for a concert performance of Rossini’s Semiramide with Opera Rara
5 September Carolyn Sampson joins forces with Iestyn Davies and Joesph Middleton for a Chamber Prom of songs exploring love at Cadogan Hall
