Groves Artists applies the spirit of history and the wisdom of practical experience to artist management
05.09.16Deep experience and a strong commitment to continuity are among the shaping forces behind Groves Artists, which is launched today with the unveiling of its new website. It will draw on the expertise of its founder and Managing Director, Jonathan Groves, refined over the course of more than four decades with Ingpen & Williams. Groves Artists intends to preserve the Ingpen & Williams ethos of personal artist management, cultivating the careers and serving the specific needs of its clients.
Jonathan Groves chose to create a new company at the beginning of May, following his friend and colleague David Sigall’s decision to retire after forty-four years with Ingpen & Williams. Helen Hogh, another long-serving member of the Ingpen & Williams team, joins Groves Artists as Director of Vocal Artists. The company’s select staff, thanks to their experience with Ingpen & Williams, have already devoted ninety years of collective service to the artists they represent and will continue to work on their behalf under the aegis of Groves Artists.
“I am delighted that Groves Artists stands on the secure foundations of Ingpen & Williams,” comments Jonathan Groves. “This is an exciting venture for me, especially as it flows naturally from the old company. Artists value the continuity that we are able to offer them.”
Groves Artists, like Ingpen & Williams before it, will respond rapidly to questions from promoters as part of the process of building and maintaining strong relationships between them and the company’s artists.
“We have deliberately established a small company so we can devote the maximum amount of time to our artists,” Jonathan Groves observes. “It has always been my belief that, when it comes to managing artists, small is good. That belief has only been strengthened by experience. While the launch of Groves Artists represents a new chapter, it emerges from the seventy-year history of Ingpen & Williams. I cannot imagine a better way to start a business.”
