Andrew Gourlay shortlisted for RPS Award

We are delighted that Andrew Gourlay has been shortlisted in the Young Artists category of the 2017 Royal Philharmonic Society Awards. This is in recognition of the wide range of his conducting activities in the UK during 2016 which ranged from Birtwistle and Ligeti at the Proms, Tippett’s A Child of our Time with the Hallé, Scheherazade with the CBSO to collaborating with Björk at the Royal Albert Hall and the Hammersmith Apollo.

We can also announce that Andrew Gourlay will conduct the CBSO this week in concerts in Symphony Hall at 14.15 on Thursday April 6 and 19.00 on April 8. He is taking over these concerts form the indisposed CBSO Music Director Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla and the programme will include Rachmaninov’s Third Symphony.
