Sir Mark Elder CBE and Roderick Williams recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List

We are very proud and delighted that Sir Mark Elder CBE has been appointed a Companion of Honour in today’s Birthday Honours List, and Roderick Williams has received an OBE.

The award to Sir Mark recognises a lifetime’s commitment to British musical life, exemplified during the last seventeen years by his fruitful and enduring relationship with the Hallé in Manchester which he continues to sustain whilst also working with the world’s great orchestras and opera houses.

Roderick Williams has become one of Britain’s best-loved singers with his unmatched ability to draw audiences all over the world into the heart of the music he performs, both in concert, recital and on the opera stage.
