Michael Schønwandt returns to conduct at Opéra de Paris

Michael Schønwandt will return to the Opéra National de Paris early in the coming season to conduct Ambroise Thomas’s Hamlet, beginning at the Bastille on September 18, with eight performances running to October 9. John Osborn sings the title role in a production by Krzysztof Warlikowski. Schønwandt made his debut at the Opéra in 1985 and his last project was Falstaff in 2024/25.

The 2025/26 season also sees him continue as Principal Guest Conductor of the Belgian National Orchestra and the Deutsche Radiophilharmonie.
