Soprano Rachel Nicholls to join Ingpen and Williams

We are delighted to announce that Rachel Nicholls will be joining our roster of sopranos with effect from today. Rachel has just completed three complete Ring cycles, as Brünnhilde, for Longborough Festival Opera to great critical acclaim – “Rachel Nicholls’ transformation from Baroque and contemporary-music specialist into the feistiest Brünnhilde on the block has been mesmerising. Her voice is so focused, whether she’s packing a defiant punch or floating a glinting lyrical line, and she commands the stage like one of those kung-fu warrior maidens.” (The Times).

Forthcoming engagements in 2013/14 include her first Leonore in Fidelio for Bergen National Opera, Lady Macbeth in Verdi’s Macbeth for Opera Northern Ireland, and Eva in Die Meistersinger for the Badische Staatstheater Karlsruhe.
