Sir Mark Elder presented with ABO Award

Sir Mark Elder was presented last night with the prestigious annual ABO Award during the Association of British Orchestras’ annual conference in Gateshead. The award is presented each year to somebody judged to have made an outstanding contribution to British orchestral life. Sir Mark is now in his fifteenth season as Music Director of the Hallé, and has recently extended his contract to 2020.
